A "Nicely" History
"Nicely out of Tune" feel right at home in a little pub with a frenetic audience. But they like to play everywhere else, standing up in a coach on the Autobahn, in a historic streetcar at nighttime or on a river cruise. It all started in 2008 when Ralph asked Jürgen to join him for a tribute to the legendary Folkrock band "Lindisfarne". In 2009 drummer Jo joined in - and the line up of 1993 was back, when the three friends had played often at the "Ideenschmiede", Naumburg's cultural melting pot in the 1990's. In 2009, the band started "Magical Mystery Tours" on a coach which looked - and still does - like the Beatles bus of the 1967 Fab Four movie with the same title: A splendid sightseeing tour in the Saale-Unstrut region with live music on board open to group booking. On the 50th anniversary of the Beatles founding, "Nicely" organized a whole week of tribute to the Beatles in April 2010, together with a band of friends and other artists, aptly dubbed "The Beatles Are Coming!" Meanwhile, "Nicely out of Tune" are joined frequently by other musicians from the region. Violin player Jörg Blumenstein, who lives in Leipzig, and lovely Susan Ortelt have been on stage with the band and hopefully will be back in the near future. The band from Naumburg is already looking ahead. Stay tuned for the new project in 2011, called "Die Naumburger Meister" - a journey through five centuries of protest songs. |
